What We Do

Art in the Schools

The Eastport Arts Center collaborates with the schools in the area to introduce students to a variety of artistic disciplines and give them an understanding of the creative process through hands-on experience. Students come to the Arts Center for these experiences, such as demonstrations of the Arts Center’s tracker organ with local organist Edward French.

Scholarships

Thanks to the generosity of JMG United and the students of Washington Academy and Rose Gaffney schools in Machias, the Eastport Arts Center has received $1,000 to provide scholarship and material assistance to students between the ages of 5-17. This scholarship will be provided to students who express need and are located within a 45-mile radius of the Eastport Arts Center. We hope to extend this scholarship into the fall months to create an afterschool program for local art students.

If you cannot pay the full fee for a workshop, you can apply for a scholarship to cover part or the entire fee. Contact the Arts Center at 207-853-4650 or email eastportarts@gmail.com for scholarship information. You can also volunteer to help with ArtsBloom or other EAC events in exchange for scholarship assistance. Please visit the volunteer page to do so.

Summer Workshops

During the summer, ArtsBloom offers workshops in various artist disciplines. Workshops are designed for individuals who have always wanted to learn basic skills as well as advanced students looking to enhance current skills.
