Stage East to perform two staged readings as part of Sunday Series
On Sunday, February 19, 2012, the play, Sea Marks by Gardner McKay, will be performed at EAC at 3:00pm. This reading will feature Richard and Mindy Gullen from the coffee shop here in Eastport.
Sunday, April 15, 2012, is the bicentennial of the sinking of the Titanic. As part of the day, Stage East will perform a staged reading of the play, Scotland Road, by Jeffrey Hatcher. Scotland road refers to lower-deck corridor which ran the length of the ship, used by staff on the Titanic.
In addition to Scotland Road, the Northern Lights Film Society will show the film, A Night to Remember, that evening at 7:00pm.
The performances are part of the Sunday Afternoon series provided by Eastport Arts Center during the winter months from January through April. The shows range from poetry readings and lecturers to musical programs and staged readings. Entrance is free but donations are accepted to help with heating costs and other expenses.
